Sarawak Report can reveal that the aging Chief Minister of Sarawak, Abdul Taib Mahmud, relies on a personal witchdoctor, or so-called Bomoh, to make all key personal and government decisions!

The extraordinary state of affairs, which has remained a carefully guarded secret among his entourage for many years, has now been explained in detail by insiders.

In the article, the writer tried to give an impression that the Chief Minister Taib Mahmud relies on a personal witchdoctor, or so-called Bomoh, to make all key personal and government decisions.

And the writer also quoted a political insider to support the claim.

However, it is apparent that the write was actually not doing a ‘revelation’ but ‘spinning’ when he or she quoted the same political insider saying : “He was able to provide an intelligent and objective perspective of events and situations ... but I don’t call it supernatural, I call it much-needed common sense!”

So, it is the writer himself or herself who called it as supernatural. Not the political insider!!!

What is so wrong to have a pious person to be our ‘personal advisor’? Or to be our “spiritual advisor”?

In fact it is also apparent that the writer is not a Muslim.

If he is a Muslim, he would know that in Islam, the believer could use verses from Al Quran to cure certain illness.

If an ‘ustaz’ can cure some of the illness by reciting the verses, it is not a surprise at all to the Muslims because they know that some verses in their holy book could be used for medication.

But ... there is a BIG but here ... a Muslim who does not pray five times a day or commit many sins could not expect he could cure an illness by reciting verses from Al Quran.

Therefore, to call the ustaz (or religion teacher) as a witchdoctor or bomoh is very unbecoming especially from those who are Muslims.

Please get the facts right before accusing Taib Mahmud engages in bomoh-ism.

And my advice to the writer, if you are a Muslim. you should repent for not able to differentiate between bomoh-ism and Islamic medication.

And if you are not a Muslim, you should have checked with PAS spiritual advisor Nik Aziz on the matter.

Don’t simply write just because you thought that you have found a chink on the armour.
